Goodbye 2011 - Happy New Year

Here it is - the last day of 2011.

It has been a year full of ups and downs. And those ups and downs have been quite more intensive than usually. It's been full of fun and pain, laughter and tears, friends and loved ones, love and loss...

I've started 2011 at the pier down at San Francisco, watching a breathtaking firework, cherishing how incredible happy and lucky I was to be exactly where I was at that point of my life. Today I'm saying goodbye to this year at my best friends house, together with other people I love dearly. And I am going to cherish, just as last year, how lucky and happy I am.
Even tho not everything has went to plan throughout the year, I am still very lucky to have what I have right now.
I think, this is not just the time to sit and reminisce, but also to stand up and make new plans. A place you've been dreaming to go to. Something you've always wanted to buy. Getting closer to people you might have neglected. Doing something you been thinking of doing for ages. Here's your chance of taking that dream, that wish, and working on it.

Welcoming a new year means getting another chance. A new chance.

So, after I've finally found a dress, those new years resolutions need to be picked. I'm still a bit undecided but I know that I am going to be more focused and even more driven. Now that I have finally started to make my dreams come true in 2011, there is still so much more to do in the coming year. Dreams are mine for the taking.

Happy New Year to everyone. Have a fantastic time, pick those resolutions and take the new chance. See you next year!

Loads of love flying you way,
Danny

Merry Christmas - smiles everywhere

I wish you all a very merry Christmas!
We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. And it was wonderful. I had a lovely time with my family with loads of laughter, love, presents and food.

Christmas is something I look forward to all year, it's my favourite time and I really don't want it to be over.
Plus, I've been off work the week before Christmas so I had time to buy all my presents, bake cookies and make some Christmas cards, which I've sent to friends all over the world. It's been a truly wonderful time and I've smiled a lot.

I love smiling. It's not just healthy and feels good, but when you stop for a moment and think, there are so many things to smile about. The little things. The things we barely realise. But there are just so many...

Here are 50 reasons to smile:

1. Looking at your Christmas tree just after you've finished decorating
2. The smell of coffee/tea in the morning

18. Life.
19. Your favourite show back on TV

21. Winning!
22. Losing weigh - yes, yes, yes!

Wonderful Christmas Time

Christmas!
Since it's just around the corner, I've decided to give the blog a christmassy "design". Yes, yes, I mean that little bit of green and red ;)
And I love Christmas. Love, love, love! It's not that I am much of a religious person but I just love how everything looks and feels around that time.
Everything is shiny and colourful and decorated and it smells so lovely!

But it's not just what you can see, but also how you feel.
I think, it's a great time to take a break from your busy everyday life, visit loved ones, bake cookies, exchange gifts, have massive meals and just enjoy being right where you are.

Plus, I love shopping and crafting gifts for the ones I love. It's a great opportunity to tell and show someone that you love them, and how much you love them.
A self-made card, a little present... even a lovely letter or just spending time together - that's what's Christmas is all about for me.
Not so much the huge and expensive things (they are still nice tho ;), but more the thought behind what you give is what makes a present so special, for me anyway.

And it's never wrong to treat oneself to a little something!

So, whether you enjoy the season as much as I do, or are just trying to get it over with I hope you'll have a wonderful, magical time!

HoHoHo, D.

Who am I? And what am I doing here?

Hello there!
I'm Danny, female, 21 years young. Welcome to my world!

Why did I want to write a blog?
Well, there are some reasons. For once, I love writing. There is barely anything I love more than the written word. Plus, it helps me... to focus on things, to remember things... it clears my mind. Another reason would be, that I like to, well, share my thoughts and stories. Sometimes I just need to put it out there ;) Plus, I think it's a great way to "meet" other people, all around the world. So, these would be the main reasons why I started this.

What will you find on here?
Everything! I will post things that inspire me and make me think. Books, films, music, cosmetics, clothes... Stuff I like and don't like, as well as opinions and maybe one or another story. Not so much politics and celebrity stuff (but there will be exceptions, of course). And you can ask me to write about something - everything, I'm always happy to put in my two pennies worth ;)

What else?
There's one more thing. As you have probably figured by now I am not from the UK or USA, or any other country where they speak English, so my English is NOT perfect. Apologies in advance. However, if you want to give advice or anything, it will always be appreciated - if you do it the nice way.

So, I'd say that is pretty much it.
Good blogging then (:

Love, D
